Design, in practice

05 / Research & validation planning

Turn assumptions
into testable questions.

A validation plan defines what needs to be learned, the task that can reveal it, and the evidence that would change a design decision.

The design question

What would tell us whether the experience is clear enough?

01

Identify the uncertain decision

Choose an assumption with a consequence for the journey. Avoid a broad request for opinions when a specific behavior can be observed.

02

Write a realistic task

Ask someone to complete a goal without naming the control they should use. Observe where they look, hesitate, or misunderstand.

03

Define the revision signal

Record completion, interpretation errors, and points of confusion. Decide which findings would justify changing the flow or its wording.

In practice / MoonsJob

A decision in context.

For MoonsJob, the next iteration should test whether candidates understand where to find application progress, how the referral paths differ, and what a complete profile requires. These are proposed checks, not completed research findings.
